I’m A Celebrity: Rita Simons is the FOURTH campmate to be voted off

EastEnders star Rita Simons has become the fourth campmate to be voted off I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

The 41-year-old feisty soap star admitted to her campmates she was ‘so happy’ to be leaving, so she could be reunited with her family.

Upon making her exit, Rita admitted that due to her straight-talking nature she had been pushed to hold her tongue on more than one occasion, though did make a subtle dig at John Barrowman over his hoarding of the rice and beans.

Following her departure, Rita told hosts Declan Donnelly and Holly Willoughby that she couldn’t be happier to be out of the jungle.

‘I feel like I could’ve done more challenges, more trials, I feel like I’m glad I did the bugs one, cos I think you haven’t done the jungle properly if you haven’t been covered in bugs.

‘It was so much harder than i ever through it would be, it;’s bloody hard and the thing that killed me the most was the boredom there’s a lot of times when the guys gone out to do trials, and I am no good at sitting around.’

‘I had a very minor hypoglycemic incident, so I’ve been for two days why I’ve felt not great. But I am SO GLAD to be out!’

Touching on her phobias going in, Rita admitted it helped her to face her fear of water, as she took on the Drown And Out trial.

She added: ‘I had an incident in the water filming a few years back, and something happened and I’ve got this stupid phobia, but actually doing a challenge when water’s coming up is a huge thing for me.’

Holly also touched on Rita’s straight-talking nature that had been a hit with many viewers, as the soap legend admitted she’d held her tongue on more than one occasion.

In regards to the iconic ‘toilet seat incident’ she said: ‘I think I knew it was Harry I wouldn’t tell Harry to his face through, so I made a big public announcement.

‘I think the whole camp in general, everyone is afraid to upset anyone, where there’s an issue no one wants to say anything and rock the boat, only if I’m tired and irritable and no one’ s really done anything.’

Following Sair’s departure earlier in the day, Nick, Emily and Harry joined forces for the latest trial Wicked Warehouse.

Ahead of the challenge, Emily admitted she knew her fellow campmates would have their doubts, saying: ‘I want to be really strong and up my game and be on their level of strength and bravery and hopefully come back with all the stars.’

It led Emily to finally face many of her fears as she carried various jungle creatures from one crate to another, where Nick and Harry were tied down.

Carrying the creatures, Emily was tasked with putting them on various parts of Nick and Harry’s body, and the Inbetweeners star surprisingly smashed the challenge.

The hardest proved to be the rats, as Harry proved to have a fear of the furry animals, while was left screaming in terror at the giant spiders.

The trio earned a full house of eight stars for the camp, with Emily earning plenty of praise from Harry and Nick for overcoming her fears.

‘Emily did brilliant, she did great.’ said Harry. ‘I was shaking throughout the whole thing.’ said Emily. ‘I was impressed, you did really good.’ said Nick.

Talking in the Bush Telegraph, Emily added: ‘I think sometimes people underestimate me slightly and worry if I’m part of a trial with other people the trial might not go as well.

‘People are physically much stronger than me, faster than me, I’ve never in my life cared about winning ever but I care about being part of the success of something.’

Later in the show, James and Fleur once again joined forces for the Dingo Dollar challenge, where they embarked on a jungle driving test.

With Fleur blindfolded it was up to James to direct her around the course, but if they got more than 12 minors they would fail the test and start again.

They started the course and James tried to navigate Fleur around, hitting corners, being sprayed with water and covered in sawdust as they went on their way.

Struggling to contain their laughter Fleur added: ‘James directions were impossible, they were like riddles.’

James added ‘It was difficult to communicate, saying left and right wasn’t enough.’ They reached the end of the course but failed so had to start all over again.

As they went round the course a second time they knocked into things, had more slime and sawdust dumped on them but this time managed to pass at the end and get the dingo dollars.

‘We smashed it.’ said James. ‘Kiosk Kev, we’re coming for you.’ said Fleur.

But sadly upon heading to the Outback Shack for the prize of chocolate chip cookies, the camp failed to answer the question and thus lost out on the treat.

Later in the evening, the camp teamed up once again to win the much-wanted letters from home, with the challenge of carrying eggs through a grate – with each one representing a letter.

While a majority of the eggs made it from one side to the other, the camp dropped Fleur’s, and didn’t reach Anne’s before the time ran out.

But all is not lost for their letters, as Holly then revealed they would have another chance to win them in a few days time.

Following a dinner of buffalo sausages, the camp struggled to hold back their tears as they received their long-awaited letters from loved ones, but of course Anne and Fleur were ruled out.

It proved to be a tearful affair, especially from James as he received a message from his girlfriend Kirstie, while Harry also got a touching a message from wife Sandra.

Nick also finally received the news that Chris Moyles had got his single Make You Feel Me Love to Number One in the charts during his jungle tenure, and while he seemed pleased – calling the gesture ‘lovely’ – his reaction did seem to doubt whether it was true.
